The Way Home Season 4 could be announced this week and there’s a simple reason

Ponderers are in the home stretch of Season 3, with two episodes still to go. There’s a lot left to answer and The Way Home Season 4 feels necessary – if it’s happening, we could know this week.

Episode 8 was another treasure trove of Port Haven Clues, plunging The Way Home Season 3 into even more confusion. Colton saved Jacob’s life in 1816 by pulling him out of a house fire, Thomas and Kat are kissing again, and Alice and Noah seem to have broken up for good.

Really, these are just issues adding to a much bigger pile. We still don’t properly know who Casey is, who pushed Alice into the pond, or who the mystery couple were who left the baby behind.

In short, there’s a lot to answer before the finale, and fans want The Way Home Season 4 more than ever. However, there’s something to suggest that if it’s going to get greenlit, it’ll happen this week.

The Way Home’s previous seasons had been renewed by Episode 8

If we look back over the past three seasons of The Way Home, all of them had been renewed by the time they reached Episode 8. Applying the same logic to Season 4 and we’re mostly likely to find out its future this coming week.

Hallmark

As one fan explained on Facebook “Season 1: Jan 15 – March 26, 2023, renewed on March 2 after Episode 6. Season 2: Jan 21 – March 31, 2024, renewed on March 20 after Episode 8. Season 3: Jan 3 – March 7, 2025. Started two weeks earlier, plus we didn’t skip a week for Super Bowl. Episode 8 is tonight. (Feb 21).

“And yes, I know ratings are down, but that’s partially on Hallmark for changing the night. Hopefully they’ll figure that out before next year. I still think they’ll want to announce the renewal before the season ends.”

From the fan perspective, the fight for The Way Home Season 4 is well and truly on. The binge-worthy TV show is now trending on socials each week for a very dedicated reason (ie coordinated efforts planned by fans in advance), and a petition is doing the rounds, which you can still sign.

It still remains to be seen if Season 4 will go ahead, with viewing figures for Season 3 now dipping to around 500,000 (for context, When Calls the Heart Season 12 is pulling in 1.2 million). Showrunners and Hallmark have so far stayed quiet, with cast members revealing they have no idea what’s going to happen next.
