4 things you need to know about Hallmark’s new series Hearts Around the Table

The best part of the week is waiting for a new Hallmark movie, and spring has truly sprung for us. Hearts Around the Table is nearly here, and there’s four things you need to know.

March had a royal theme to its movies, from The Royal We to last week’s hit binge Royalish. Now things are taking a different turn on The Hallmark Channel. Instead of taking place at the palace, the next few weeks of streaming have a more homely feel to them.

Hallmark is known for an exquisite bit of branding, and we’ve already enjoyed Loveuary earlier this year. Now, it’s time for Spring Into Love to shine, and that means brand-new romance drama.

Enter Hearts Across the Table, coming to the channel and streaming service on March 22. There’s a lot to get your head around, so here’s the full lowdown.

There are four movies in total

Jenna and Andrew in Hearts Around the Table

Hearts Around the Table isn’t just one movie – it’s four. Each follows a different main character from our core friend group, exploring their love lives while growing their friendship together.

Through this ‘Spring Into Love’ series, you’ll be pretty much covered for the next month with these movies.  Here’s when you can expect to see all of the parts:

  • Hearts Around the Table: Jenna’s First Love – March 22, 2025
    • Jenna plans a charity event for Billionaire Tom Redlands. But working with Tom’s right hand Andrew is proving difficult, especially since Jenna and Andrew have a romantic history.
  • Hearts Around the Table: Shari’s Second Act – March 29, 2025
    • Shari just moved back to D.C. after a breakup and hopes to start painting again. Inspiration hits when she meets Evan, a repairman who winds up actually being a gallery owner.
  • Hearts Around the Table: Josh’s Third Serving – April 5, 2025
    • When after school programs see their funding cut, Teachers Josh and Ella turn to fundraising before banding together in search of a larger donation, falling hard along the way.
  • Hearts Around the Table: Kiki’s Fourth Ingredient – April 12, 2025
    • Kiki is overjoyed and then overwhelmed when she agrees to cater a big wedding. She turns to Clay for support. Together, Kiki and Clay prove that the best ingredient is love.

All four Hearts Around the Table movies will debut on The Hallmark Channel at 8/7c before streaming on Hallmark+. They’ll need to be watched in order so you don’t miss out on any drama, though.

Weekly dinners are the most important detail

All the four friends have weekly Sunday dinners throughout the Hearts Around the Table movies (clue is in the name, really), anchoring the series as a whole.

We also have two important characters at these dinners who don’t get separate film. Angie is the matriarch of the bunch, taking care of the group and offering sage advice whenever she can. She’s also taking care of young foster kid Rory, who’s having a hard time coming out of his shell.

Weekly dinners are made up of the six of them, and as you’ll learn in Jenna’s First Love, they’re pretty historical. While the drama – and focus of the four films – keeps changing, there’s one thing that will stay the same throughout.

Romance is a complicated thing

Jenna and Josh in Hearts Around the Table

Instead of this being typical boy-meets-girl romances, Hearts Around the Table makes its romantic connections a little more complicated.

In short, this means our couples have some history together. Without delving into spoilers, Jenna is thrown back into the path of ex Andrew, while Josh strikes up a romance with colleague Ella.

As you can see from the synopses, it’s not really romance that comes first either. The main priority for our awesome foursome is their work, or at least getting their lives back on track. Love is just something that comes along as part and parcel, giving newfound hope to the dreaded office romance.

You’ll see some familiar faces

If you’re a regular Hallmark movie binger, you might have seen some of the cast before. But if you like soaps outside of the streamer, Mishael Morgan is the girl for you.

Morgan’s playing Shari in Hearts Around the Table, but is perhaps better known as Hilary Curtis and Amanda Sinclair in The Young and the Restless. Both roles made her the first Black actress to win the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series in 2022.

“Some experiences stay with you forever – filming this project was one of them,” Morgan shared on Instagram during filming. “It was raw, soulful, and filled with so much heart. Grateful for every moment and excited to share it with you all soon!”
