What time is the When Calls the Heart Season 12 finale out?

I’ve got my predictions for what’s about to happen in the When Calls the Heart Season 12 finale, but who knows in Hope Valley? What we do know is when and where to watch the action.

It’s been an emotional time in Hope Valley of late. Little Jack has been on the brink of death, saved by timely insulin treatment in Episode 11 (though I’m still not totally convinced by the historical accuracy).

Elizabeth and Nathan were pushed to the edge, with each thinking they couldn’t do what was needed in a devastating situation. Fortunately, the rest of the town was on hand with moral support, as always.

Now Jack seems to be up and running again, our attention turns to the final chapter of Season 12. But when exactly is When Calls the Heart ending, and what can we expect?

When Calls the Heart Season 12 finale release time

When Calls the Heart Season 12 finale – Episode 12, titled ‘Must Be Gold’ – airs on the Hallmark Channel on March 23, 2025, at 9pm ET.

The official episode synopsis reads: “As graduation approaches, Elizabeth and Nathan plan for a happy summer together; Lucas and Edie race Rosemary and Bill to find the gold; the town plans a sweet surprise for Minnie.”

When Calls the Heart Season 12 has been dominated by a few key storylines this year, including the Garrison gang’s involvement in the Great Train Robbery of 1907, Little Jack’s health scare, Angela’s enrolment in college, and Allie and Oliver’s standoff against McGinty.

Alongside this, Rosemary has gone from strength to strength with her radio show, Bill has experienced near-miss love with Georgie, and Mike and Mei are still desperately trying to find time for themselves.

How long is it?

Given all episodes clock in with a rough average, we can expect the Season 12 finale to be between 40-45 minutes long.

Hallmark

If that doesn’t feel like enough time to spend in Hope Valley this year, there’s good news and bad news. Let’s get the bad news out of the way first – there’s no word on Season 13 as of writing. Depending on the Season 12 cliffhanger, we’ll be able to guess whether another season feels likely. Equally, Hallmark might be waiting to give us a nice surprise after it airs.

There’s good news, though. In two weeks time, fans can start watching When Hope Calls Season 2, which is a spinoff of storylines originally introduced in the When Calls the Heart Christmas specials. Set in neighboring Brookfield, we’ll see returning character Lillian meet newbies Nora and Michael, who have their own unfurling romance.

When Hope Calls returns on April 6, 2025, streaming on Great American Family. Pure Flix users will be able to stream episodes three days early, starting on April 3.

What to expect

We’re likely to see Rosemary, Bill, and Nathan find the Garrison gold, as well as Lucas and Edie finally getting together. There’s every chance Little Jack could take a turn for the worse, but if we’re lucky, we might see Nathan and Elizabeth get engaged.

Hallmark

Let’s start with our likeliest plots first. Sonny Garrison is now back in jail, and only one mystery remains – where on Earth did Ernie Martell stash the gold? Bill and Nathan are now closer than ever to getting the answer, and with Rosemary’s help, there’s no stopping them.

Obviously, this implicates Ernie’s niece Edie too. She’s still trying to get her head around what her late uncle has done, and no longer working for McGinty gives her connection to Lucas an easy way in. Finding out where he hid the Garrison gold will likely make Edie and Lucas realize what a great pair they are.

Then there’s our wildcards. We’d be a bit naive to assume one successful dose of newly invented insulin would suddenly make all of Little Jack’s problems go away. Diabetes is a lifelong condition, and that was still effectively a death sentence in the early 1920s. It’s incredibly unlikely that Hallmark would actually kill Jack off, but he’ll certainly have peaks and pits in his health.

The moment we’ve been patiently waiting for it Nathan and Elizabeth’s engagement. The Episode 12 preview suggests and romantic proposal of some kind is on the cards. “Tonight, this grateful calm just came over me,” Nathan explains. “It’s you. You’re what I think about all the time.”

Frankly, there’s nobody better suited to Elizabeth since Jack died. If we cross our fingers hard enough, we might just see Nathan put a ring on it.
