Hold onto your hats – Will Trent just took a very dark turn. Season 3 Episode 15 just changed Angie’s future for good with its shocking death, but where does that leave her?

Whether you’ve read the original book series of the same name or watch the binge-worthy TV show each week, you’ll know Angie and Will are tight. Having grown up together, Angie is now a homicide detective in the police procedural, while the pair’s on-off romantic relationship always lurks in the background.

Things haven’t been so rosy for her recently, though. 15 episodes in to the new series and she’s hit a dark place, and that’s long after her arrest for evidence tampering (and nothing to do with it, incidentally).

The new TV show delivered its most brutal blow to her yet by killing off an unsuspecting character, but where does she go from here? The most likely answer… down a deadly spiral.

Will Trent Season 3 Episode 15’s major death makes Angie’s future look bleak

Will Trent Season 3 Episode 15 killed off Angie’s mom, forcing her to break her sobriety in the process. After paying a visit to her comatose mother, Angie laid there beside her as she flatlined, with Will getting her a whisky afterwards to cope with the shock.

Fans first learned about Angie’s mom back in Season 1, having essentially pimped her out from the age of five in order to fund her “vices.” It’s safe to say Angie has conflicting feelings about her, but that hasn’t stopped the loss from hurting any less.

It’s also unsurprising that the death has had a knock-on effect on Angie’s sobriety. Speaking to TV Line at the beginning of Season 3, executive producer Liz Heldens said, “We talk about it a lot, and I think this season there might be a reason why that happens, although I’m not certain yet.”

“It seemed [more] interesting to me, after a lot of discussion, to have her not fall off the wagon,” she added, claiming she’d talked with fellow EP Daniel Thomsen about “what would push her to the edge.”

Now, there’s two likely things that could happen for Angie off the back of Will Trent Season 3 Episode 15, and one of them is fatal. In a worst-case scenario, Seth, Angie’s now-sober addict boyfriend, could fail to get her back on the wagon, having to helplessly stand by as she destroys herself.

However, this low could also be something that brings her closer to ex-boyfriend Will. Yes, he’s basically the guy who has helped to break her sobriety, but as a man of the law and a lover of Angie, you’d like to think his heart would be in the right place.

We won’t know anything for certain until Season 3 Episode 16, which airs on April 29, 2025.
