YouTube: AsmongoldTVAsmongold revealed that his father has died just over a week after announcing a hiatus from streaming to take care of his dad’s declining health.
Asmongold broke the news in a tweet on September 18, 2025, confirming that his father had died a few days prior to his post.
“It’s difficult for me to even find the words for the emptiness it leaves me with, he was my last family member in the state and I was there with him until the end,” he wrote.
“I will endure, but I don’t think I’ll ever be the same. I love you, Pa.”
Fans quickly poured in with their sympathies and condolences, with some reminiscing about his occasional humorous phone calls to Asmon during his streams.
“So sorry for your loss, king. I’ll miss his random calls on stream,” one said.
“I’m so sorry for your pain and loss. You were an incredible son and he was so lucky to have you at his side,” another wrote.
Asmongold announces father’s death amid indefinite Twitch hiatus
This news comes just over a week after Asmongold revealed he was taking an indefinite break from broadcasting to take care of his father, who was declining from pancreatic cancer.
At first, he was hospitalized for pneumonia, but scans showed that he had liver failure due to the cancer. As a result, Asmon found himself sleeping on the floor next to his dad’s hospital bed as he continued to struggle with additional issues like low blood pressure and difficulty breathing.

“Because of the severity, this will require my full attention until it is resolved one way or another, which means streams will be on hiatus until that time comes,” Asmon told his fans in early September. “There’s nothing I’d rather do more than go live and continue on like I always do, but my obligation to my father must take priority.”
Asmongold’s mother died in October 2021 after an extended battle with COPD. It is unclear when he will return to streaming after this latest blow, but viewers are offering their well-wishes in the interim.
