Asmongold isn’t buying Twitch CEO Dan Clancy’s response to TwitchCon safety concerns after Valkyrae and QTCinderella dropped out of the event.

TwitchCon is set for October 17-19 in San Diego, California. The annual event gives streamers and viewers a chance to interact in person, but this year, the convention has sparked some big criticism.

Notably, both QTCinderella and Valkyrae, two of the net’s biggest female streamers, dropped out, claiming they’re “afraid to go,” referencing a situation where a creator was stabbed to death in Japan.

Meanwhile, Twitch CEO Dan Clancy dismissed these concerns, saying that Twitch takes security at its events “extremely seriously.”

“We have teams focused on this year-round, including keeping creators and community members safe on Twitch or at TwitchCon. We have rules and standards regarding TwitchCon attendees, and we limit people who have been indefinitely suspended off service violations — they are not able to attend,” he said during a live stream.

However, Twitch star Asmongold is disputing the CEO’s claims and is advising women against attending the event based on past controversies.

Asmongold blasts Twitch over lack of TwitchCon safety

In response to a post by X account ‘yeet’ highlighting a Dexerto article on Clancy’s statement, Asmongold hit out at the CEO’s comments.

“Last year, nmplol and wake were sexually assaulted by a streamer and Twitch didn’t press charges or pursue any form of legal action against him,” he said.

As Dexerto reported in 2024, Kick streamer ‘DBR666’ asked Nmp if they could kiss his forehead. They then proceeded to smooch Nmp’s head multiple times, prompting the streamer to break it up.

Security escorted DBR out of the venue for violating TwitchCon’s code of conduct – but the Kick streamer ended up becoming agitated, claiming they were being removed for wearing a dress.

Still, the lack of any further action by Twitch is rubbing Asmongold the wrong way and issued a warning for anyone still looking to attend.

“If I was a woman, I would never go to TwitchCon,” he added.

This isn’t the only incident to happen at a TwitchCon, either. Back in 2022, Amouranth revealed that her security was forced to act after multiple stalkers showed up at the event and began following her.
