Tyler ‘Ninja’ Blevins says he is “berated” by trolls every day as he is no longer as popular on Twitch as he once was.

At one point, you couldn’t visit Twitch without seeing Ninja dominating the viewership charts. The former professional Halo player was the Amazon-owned platform’s biggest streamer during Fortnite’s initial boom, playing with the likes of Drake and Travis Scott at times.

He was, at one point, Twitch’s most-followed streamer, too, with over 19 million followers. However, his momentum came to a halt when he left Twitch and joined Mixer.

Despite returning to Twitch after Microsoft’s now-defunct platform came to an end, his viewership has never really returned to its old levels. And that is something that “haters” love to remind him of.

Ninja reveals trolls remind him of “rough” last few years

Ninja told the BBC that he is “berated” by trolls every day who remind him that he isn’t as popular as he used to be.

“I think I’m the only streamer on the planet who was pulling 100,000 viewers [per stream] consistently, but now I get like seven or eight thousand across Twitch and YouTube,” he told the BBC ahead of his 24-hour charity livestream

“So that’s something that the internet and trolls remind me of every day, and the last couple of years have been rough. It’s literally every day that I’m getting berated online.”

As noted, Ninja pioneered the now-popular multistream movement. His initial return to Twitch saw him also going live on YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok at the same time.

He still does that, and, according to TwitchTracker, averages around 2000 viewers on the Amazon-owned platform. His biggest peak in the last 12 months came in December 2024, when he hit 34,000 viewers on a Fortnite stream.
