When does the free pass expire?
You have until October 7, three days before Battlefield 6 launches, to earn all of the free rewards. Once you’ve got them all, make sure to log into BF6 before March 31, 2026, to claim them.
You’ll notice progression is slow, but it’s designed to last all the way until the next game’s launch, so don’t feel like you have to earn everything straight away. However, you can maximize your time to get the rewards quickly.
How to level up 2042 pass quickly
Complete missions
The weekly missions are by far the best way to progress Battlefield 2042’s free pass. You’ll get 55 ‘pips’ for completing each week’s missions, which is 5.5 tiers. Over the course of the seven weeks, that’s 38.5 out of 60 tiers needed to get all of the rewards.

This means that once you’ve crossed a certain threshold, you can stop grinding XP and simply do the missions. For example, if you hit tier 32.5 before Week 3’s challenges drop, you’ve earned enough XP to only do the missions.
Here’s the tier you need to hit to only focus on the challenges:
- Week 1: 27
- Week 2: 32.5
- Week 3: 38
- Week 4: 43.5
- Week 5: 49
- Week 6: 54.5
Play during Double XP weekends
The devs announced that every weekend will have Double XP, with the final two weekends having Triple XP. The further in the pass you go, the more XP it takes to level up, so playing during these weekends will make sure you’re making the most of your time.
Portal mode
Tons of Portal modes let you AFK for XP, which can be useful when you’re not playing the game, but thanks to the limited XP, you’re better off actively playing the game.
