For managers in EA FC 26‘s Career Mode, this is a standard piece of transfer business many of us will do once, twice, maybe three times each January window.

How to sign a contract expiry player

If there’s a player on the contract expiry list you want to sign, you need to enquire about the player in the game and hope that the club hasn’t yet tied them down:

1. Load up your Career save in Career Mode.
2. Go to the Transfer Center.
3. Search for the player on the list – if you are in the January window.
4. Approach to sign them.
5. Get the deal done.

This process allows you to skip over the club, agree terms with the player, and then they will join your squad at the end of the next season as a free contract.
