Best Tactical Visions

Tactical Visions in EA FC 26’s Manager Career are used to set a template for your squad, which can then be fine-tuned using more nuanced changes like positional changes, player roles, and more.

Once you select your Tactical Vision, you’ll also want to sign coaches to help your players get the most out of the system.

What is the best Tactical Vision?

There isn’t necessarily a ‘Best’ tactical vision, but some may be more useful in certain situations. For example, if you’re one of the league’s underdogs, you might want to consider playing with a Counter Attack Tactical Vision, but teams expected to dictate a match’s tempo will want to opt for something more constructive like Possession.

From our early impressions, there are definitely two that we’d recommend based on changes made in EA FC 26:

  • Wing Play – This Tactical Vision benefits greatly from the improved crossing and heading updates, particularly in the Ultimate Team-focused Competitive style of playing. Beating a player and then sending in a cross is not only satisfying, but it pays off more often thanks to those additions.
  • Possession – This time around, possession football is more useful in FUT. EA says you the game can read a pass input during play with as little as one frame of warning, so you’ve got more opportunities to knock it around the pitch and wait for an opening.

Another recommended option is the ‘gegenpress’, but primarily in Competitive modes:

  • High Pressing – This year, there’s more risk in playing out from the back in Authentic mode, and players can get anxious if a striker is closing them down. Use that to your advantage to build a Klopp-esque pressing side that wins the ball back quickly.

For Authentic Career Mode, Standard remains a solid option in that it can be flexible enough to pivot to other Tactical Visions, and Counter Attack can be deadly, but the slower pace can make pinging a through ball to a forward from deep a bit less slick than it was before.

They all have their place in the game, but the only one we’d actively avoid is Park the Bus. Not only is it less fun to have minimal possession, but Counter Attack gives you much of the same stability while still offering at least some attacking intent.

All Tactical Visions

1 of 7
  • Standard – Your team takes a balanced approach to the game, focused on maintaining a shape that will help you stay strong defensively while still offering a threat going forward.
  • Counter Attack – Low-risk and a low block are the keys to your team’s style of play. Players defend the penalty area and then, once possession is regained, get the ball forward quickly with attackers ready to run into space behind the opponents’ defensive line.
  • High Pressing – Your strategy is based around a high press. Your team tries to win back the ball in the opponent’s third wherever possible, using turnovers to create goal-scoring opportunities before the opposition can settle back into shape.
  • Kick and Rush – A style of play built around strength and athleticism enables your players to often bypass midfield, getting the ball forward quickly to your powerful strikers ho can exploit space behind defenders and battle for second balls and knockdowns.
  • Park the Bus – Your team bases its game around solid, uncompromising defending. You’re always disciplined and well-organised out of possession, usually employing a very low block, throttling opponents’ attacks before winning the ball and trying to get forward yourselves.
  • Possession – You look to employ a possession-based style of play. Comfortable on the ball all over the pitch, your players use short passing and rotations while waiting for opportunities to play in attackers who’ve run into channels or gaps between opposition defenders.
  • Wing Play – Your side makes use of the full width of the pitch when in possession, getting the ball out to attacking players close to the touchlines quickly and using overlapping full-backs to add to the threat from those areas.
