Career Mode vs Live Start Points

EA FC 25 introduced Live Start Points, but in Career Mode in EA FC 26, there are more to choose from, including at launch.

Here, we’ll cover what makes them different from starting a ‘standard’ Career Mode, whether you’re playing as a Player or as a Manager.

What are Live Start Points?

When starting a Career in EA FC 26, you can start a normal career or one with a Live Start Point. While the former always starts at the same date and runs until you decide to retire, the latter can be used to create ‘What If’ scenarios.

In the example below, Newcastle United are sitting in 17th in the Premier League table, with Wolves the club’s next fixture. By adjusting the timeline, you can stick with this scenario, or move to the game week prior, or even before that.

Doing so will match the fixtures, team selections, squads, injuries, and anything else from the real-world sport, but with the caveat that it can take a week or so for EA to create the starting point. For example, in real life, Newcastle beat Wolves 1-0.

Club Selection in EA FC 26

In many ways, it depends on what you’re looking for in your Career Mode save. For some, the fun will be found in simply starting out, signing players, building a squad, and tweaking tactics.

Others will prefer to roleplay as if they’ve been parachuted into a club performing below expectations to test their ability to rally the team to success.

Manager Live Hub Explained

A challenge with Napoli's retro kit attached

New in EA FC 26 is a new way to tackle challenges in Career Mode right from the jump. These Manager Live Hub challenges have objectives that need to be completed within a few matches (like winning a preseason trophy), a transfer window (like earning a certain figure and spending plenty), or longer term, like securing promotion or a league title.

Some of these can be completed with any team, while others let you pick from a series of specific options. And, if you enjoy playing, you can continue the save after the challenge is completed.

You can also earn retro kits in EA FC 26 by completing some of these challenges.
