How to change a player’s position in Career Mode

EA FC 26 brings back Tactical Visions from EA FC 25, but if you’re in need of a player in a certain position and you’re not in a transfer window or don’t have the cash, you can retrain a player in order to focus on a new position.
How to retrain a player to play a different position

When in Manager Career, open your Squad Hub and select the play you want to move positions, and then select ‘Development Plan’.
You can opt to train the player towards different Player Roles, but you’ll also see other potential roles. Take Mikel Merino, for example. He’s a box-to-box midfielder by trade, but can be used as a Striker.
This means you can change him to a Poacher, Advanced Forward, Target Forward or False 9, but doing so will take more than 200 weeks. That means it won’t always be beneficial to make these massive changes.

There’s also a major caveat with this system in that it only works if a player has multiple positions listed. For example, Eberechi Eze can play Striker, CAM, or LW, but there’s no option to train him to play as a RW or CM.
How to change player position in Player Career

While it was possible in EA FC 25, changing position as a player in EA FC 26 seems to have been removed in favor of Archetypes.
That means once you pick a player’s position at the start of a save with a created player, you won’t be able to switch. Instead, you’ll have to start a new game.
Existing players with multiple positions can be put into different positions on the pitch, however, depending on what is needed by the AI manager.
