Ultimate Team & RUSH rage quit rules explained
EA SPORTS is continuing to refine how match results are awarded in Football Ultimate Team (FUT) to reduce frustration when opponents quit or disconnect.
In FC 25, EA introduced an update so that if an opponent quit a FUT match while the score was tied, the other player would still receive the win.
What happens if your opponent rage quits in Ultimate Team?
In FC 26, EA expands this system further:
- Disconnects count as well – this includes dashboard quits, not just in-game rage quits.
- Applies to Live Events, Rivals, and Champions.
- If certain conditions are met, you will receive a win when your opponent quits or disconnects during a draw.
Limitations & Conditions
- There will be a daily cap on how many times you can benefit from this rule.
- Specific in-match conditions must be met before the result is awarded.
- Details will be confirmed in the Launch Update Pitch Notes.
- EA is cautious to prevent exploits that could harm fair play, so rules may change based on community feedback.
In FC 26, you’re more protected against wasted matches: if someone rage quits or disconnects while the score is level, you’ll often still get the win—though with limits and conditions in place.
EA will continue to monitor the criteria as time goes on, they have stated.
RUSH matchmaking delays
One of the biggest frustrations in FUT RUSH is when teammates quit or disconnect before the match ends, leaving the rest of the squad at a disadvantage. To tackle this, EA is introducing a new system of matchmaking delays for players who regularly leave matches early.
This means that if someone consistently quits FUT RUSH games before the final whistle, they will be forced to wait before they can jump back into matchmaking. The goal is to discourage rage quits and keep matches competitive and enjoyable for everyone involved.
The exact details of how long these delays last, or how many early quits it takes to trigger them, are still being finalized. EA plans to confirm these specifics in the Launch Update Pitch Notes when FC 25 goes live.
Importantly, this system is brand new to Ultimate Team, and EA has stated they will be closely monitoring community feedback. If it causes more problems than it solves, adjustments may be made after launch.
