YouTuber behind People vs Preds channel begs platform to unban them after breaking guidelines

Popular YouTube channel People v. Preds has been banned from the platform, and despite filing an appeal to get their channel unbanned, the channel’s owner has hit a wall in the process.

The People v. Preds channel was banned from YouTube in February 2025. The channel’s operator has since issued a slew of tweets toward the website, demanding clarity about the reason for their ban.

“I really hope you make the right decision and give me my channel back,” the YouTuber tweeted on February 26.

With People v. Preds’ main focus of catching “online preds that prey on children,” fans of the channel couldn’t understand why YouTube would want to “protect” adults who talk to underage children.

“Sounds like YouTube wants to keep pedos safe. This is not how this is supposed to work,” commented one.

“Unbelievable, keep up your great work to protect our children!” another exclaimed.

One viewer, however, suggested that YouTube ‘doesn’t like’ how People v. Preds “baited people” to have them arrested.

The channel’s creator responded: “I don’t ‘bait’ people to get arrested. People commit crimes to get arrested. Don’t commit crimes, don’t get arrested. Pretty simple concept. And don’t f**k with kids.”

People v. Preds banned from YouTube for “circumvention”

After taking the issue up with YouTube via X, the platform responded, saying People v. Preds went against the app’s guidelines. “Looks like your channel was suspended for circumvention,” said TeamYouTube.

The channel’s creator also filed an appeal to have the ban revoked, which YouTube firmly opposed. “We won’t be putting your channel back up on YouTube,” they confirmed in an email.

Though People v. Preds won’t be allowed to post more content about catching predators, there are other creators on YouTube who post similar videos that have gone viral across social media.

YouTuber JiDion is a prime example of this, most recently helping law enforcement officers catch a predator after they fell through a ceiling in an attempt to outrun the law.
