YouTuber freaks out in court as judge upholds life sentence for killing rival on stream

A South Korean YouTuber who stabbed his rival to death outside of a courthouse in 2024 freaked out at a judge for upholding his life sentence.
On May 9, 2024, YouTuber ‘Joddoltv’ attended a court hearing in Busan and was live streaming when his rival, another YouTuber surnamed Hong, approached him from behind and started stabbing him to death.
Hong and Joddoltv had a long history of feuds involving numerous lawsuits and disputes. The day of the murder, Hong was trying to prevent his rival from testifying in court after filing assault charges against him.
The 56-year-old Hong was apprehended by police and appeared in court back in November. He stood up, bowed to the judge and started clapping after being sentenced to life for the “retaliatory murder.”
However, on April 10 2025, the YouTuber sang a completely different tune when his life sentence was upheld in court.
YouTuber restrained by security after courtroom chaos
According to Korea Joongang Daily, the Busan High Court decided to uphold Hong’s life sentence – and he had a meltdown over the verdict.
“What happened to the decision about canceling my detention?” Hong asked.

While the judge reiterated that the decision had been made, the YouTuber kept yelling out.
“How did you make the decision?” he inquired before turning to the prosecutor and demanding he “explain it.”
Although the judge tried to call on the next case and proceed with another trial, Hong continued to lash out and began yelling about Korea’s former President.
“Is this only allowed for Yoon Suk Yeol?” he shouted. “Is this country owned by Yoon?”

This resulted in prison guards surrounding the YouTuber and removing him from the courtroom, all while he continued to scream loudly as he was escorted out.
Shockingly, this case isn’t the only instance of a streamer being stabbed to death. In March 2025, Japanese streamer Airi Sato, was walking the streets of Shinjuku while broadcasting to over 6,000 people when a knife-wielding man attacked her.
